Why is it so important?
Producing healthy, well adjusted Abyssinian Kittens HAS to be our priority. We try our very best using the knowledge we have gained to support our Queens in producing and parenting their babies.
Reassurance for you
We aim to have two vet checks, worm and flea treatment, micro-chipped, the complete imms, neutering and Langfords genetic testing done PRIOR to their collection.
Sharing Good Practice
If you are interested in receiving mentoring for breeding your Active Abyssinian; Westford Cats are happy to help support you, and signpost you where necessary. Come and join us in this hobby!
Elaine says “Its been a long lifetime ambition of mine to be breeding and showing cats.
I am very keen to try and ensure that the UK Abyssinian type does not drop in numbers anymore than it has.
The humble Old English Sheepdog saw its numbers drop and was placed on a vulnerable native list by the Kennel Club in 2020 but has since been taken off as there has been a resurgence.
If we can reverse the plight of the OESD – lets try to re-popularise the Abyssinian again within the UK.
Elsewhere the US American type and the European types are doing better.
