Would you like to know about our new kittens?
Of course you would!
October 13th – Ashby our usual silver had 6 live healthy kittens without any intervention needed. This is her first little. It is too early to tell what sex, colour etc they are at birth……so watch this space!
October 14th – Echo our sorrel silver had her litter of 3 live kittens , again , no intervention needed.
So yes! You may very well think we are crazy to have two litters at the sametime……However, when I midwifed for many years, it was not extraordinary for me to have 11 Postnatal Mums and their babies on a shift – checking that everyone was healthy, warm, and fed.
As many of you know- I had twins who are now aged 20…..Phil and I have 5 adult children between us and still have Ruby and her partner with us. We certainly like a busy household!
Our last litter were prepared for busy household too as we had various jobs done in the house, shutter blinds and porcelain flooring whilst caring for the kittens. Quite proud of that – and hopefully it shows in the temperament of the kittens – they are handled early by us consistently and we are able to socialise them to the normal noises, bangs and knocks that a busy household has.
