What a great day showing at Wyvern Cat Club Show.
If Ive said it once ……Ive said it twice! Have a think about whether you want to get into showing. Its a great family hobby. Its inclusive and accessible. We have pushchairs and wheelchair users visting and participating. Many shows are held in Leisure Centres with very good car parking and on ground levels.
Luna, our usual silver tortie won enough Challenge Certificates to gain herself a Champion award. Of curse, Im super proud of her and have sent the cards off for framing etc.
For me personally, I breed to produce health cats with a good temperament and then being show – worthy is the final consideration. I am, by nature, not the sort of person who would crawl over your graveside to win. I love competing with Abyssinians within the GCCF community because it provides EXACTLY the type of community I seek.
OF curse, I am thrilled if we pick up an award BUT its more about mixing and networking with feline fans for me. I would get just as much satisfaction buddying up and assisting someone as if it were myself.
I know I am not alone with that ethos within the Abyssinian Community. We collaborate and wish each other success and support each other well. I challenge YOU to find a more supportive Breeder group than ours!
So the certificates have gone to the framers…….I will add it when it comes back. It has pride of place on the stairs wall at home!
