We are EXTREMELY proud to let you know we are the only ABYSSINIAN breeders who are part of the GCCF Breeder Scheme.
This scheme aims to reassure buyers that they are obtaining a kitten bred to the highest standards.
This rigorous assessment checked out our home environment scrutinising our practice and our paperwork. We are certified until 14/12 26 and have a membership registration number 0442.

We had a small-holding and he had all manner of animals he raised.
I learnt all my life that when an animal (or a human) gets the best of starts then it can thrive and show it’s potential.
I try to utilise what I know from my other walks of life and utilise it in Westford Cats. That may be from midwifery and health visiting , parenting skills, knitting a cat blanket, or even creating the social media accounts around them. Our tag name is @abyssiniankittens for TikTok and @westfordcats for Insta.
For us- its simply Non-Negotiable. we do not cut corners when it come to nutrition, enrichment activities, and socialisation.

We regularly show with the GCCF and attend shows even when we dont. Our aim is to do reasonably well at show but for us its not all about winning!
We do however hold the President’s Cup from the Abyssinian Cat Club for the Best Silver Adult Abyssinian 2022 and 2023.
We want to support all the other EXCELLENT GCCF Abyssinian Breeders out there too. There is a comprehensive list here at the Abyssinian Cat Club Website.
If we dont have what you want – please check out the other breeders. Some are wholly reliant on using the breeder lists rather than social media so with abit of tenacity – you will find the right Abyssinian in your area for the right price. Let them know you found them through us and the breeder list. Its really useful information that helps the breeder.
We are members of the Abyssinian Cat Club and attend their AGM and enter our cats into the Annual Abyssinian Cat Show too. Please see our report and results on the News Page.
We have also contributed to Papyrus the Abyssinian Cat Club Magazine. I am a huge fan of this club. It is one of the founding members of the GCCF Governing Council of the Cat Fancy and was established in 1929. All the Westford Abyssinian Cat Owners have a years complimentary subscription to the Club which in turn helps with promoting the profile and welfare of Abyssinian breed and ownership.
In our spare time when not dealing with cats, Phil is found in a green uniform working for the East Midlands Ambulance Service checking his phone for updates on the cats. I am found usually at home with yarn in my hand. We have FIVE grown up children between us. We love playing board games, catching up with family via Whatsapp and binge watching TV.
We are based in Lincolnshire, UK. We do consider delivering our kittens (within reason) to their new homes. I have delivered to Birmingham, Nottingham, Leicester, Newcastle, Sheffield, and Cambridgeshire for example.
We also live about 30 minute drive from Newark Northgate train station and I often pick up prospective cat owners who have caught the regular fast trains from London Kings Cross to Edinburgh.
I am happy to pick you up, offer you a cup of tea, a chat and the chance to interact with the cats so you can make your mind up in person. Theres no pressure or any rush!
Newark Northgate Train Station – 80 minutes from London Kings Cross . Trains leave regularly everyday.

We plan our litters carefully so we are able to give the care and attention to our girls and their fur babies.

We also differ from many Abyssinian Breeders currently as we do use Pets 4 Homes. It works for us.

We do not tend to keep a waiting list. If you follow us on TikTok or Insta, you get some updates on our available litters. In my experience, a waiting list is just too time consuming to maintain when people’s plans change so frequently.
We run a pretty simple operation- When our available kittens have had their first vet check , vax and microchip I will know their leaving date and can start advertising. All our ducks are lined up in a row so to speak. So all we require is for you to do the same.
